The Help by Kathryn Stockett

The main idea in the book is how African-American and Caucasian people interact with each other during the Civil Rights Movement. The positive element in the book is that it doesn't try to say that everyone involved with the Civil Rights Movement was famous. I recommend this book for teenagers.

Kissing Kate by Lauren Myracle

I recommend Kissing Kate because it's a very interesting book that you cannot put down. I like this book a lot because it doesn't have many characters and that makes it less confusing. But that's my opinion. Some positive elements of this book is that you shouldn't let what others say to you define you and just be who you want to be and follow yourself. I recommend this book to ages 13 and older.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

This is about an adopted German girl who steals books and hides a Jewish man. I liked all the characters because they remind me of my family. This book is extremely sad so I would recommend it for 6th grade and up.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore

The setting of Graceling is a place where there are special people with different colored eyes that have a special ability. All her life, Katsa has worked as a killer for her uncle because her special ability is supposedly killing. When she meets Prince Po, she starts to discover that her ability may be something else. This is one of my favorite books. I recommend it to readers who love adventure and romance.
