The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
This is about an adopted German girl who steals books and hides a Jewish man. I liked all the characters because they remind me of my family. This book is extremely sad so I would recommend it for 6th grade and up.

Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs
Lily Sanderson is a mermaid, but not just any mermaid, she's a Thalassian princess. When Lily found out three years previous that her mom was human, she decided to start living on land. She realized that moving in with her aunt wasn't the brightest idea. This book is ideal for ages 11 and up.
