Esperanza was always a happy and rich Mexican girl who never worked a day in her life. Her life was always great, but when her father dies and her uncles take over, she has to travel with her mother and friends to California so they won't have to live with her uncles. Esperanza must adjust to working every day, and even though she hates working, she learns to accept her new life.
