The Great Brain by John D. Fitzgerald

Every kid in Adenville, Utah knows about the Great Brain. He's the smartest kid in town, not because of his grades in school, but because he's always two steps ahead of everyone else when it comes to making a profit. However, when the Great Brain teaches peg leg Andy to do chores and play games like other kids, he is faced with a choice. He can either use his great brain to help others or he can use it to make money. The Great Brain is an entertaining and fun book that carries an important message too.
