Alanna wants to become a knight, but girls are forbidden to be warriors. By switching places with her brother Thom, Alanna gets her wish. She dresses herself up as a boy called Alan. To learn how to be a knight, she must start as a page and learn and master weapons, combat, magic, and polite behavior. I like how Alanna tries her hardest at everything. I also like how the events in this book make you want to read some more! I recommend this book to girls age 10-13 who enjoy adventure books.
