This book is about a land that used to be North America- a post-apocalyptic place called Panem that consists of 12 districts and is controlled by a ruthless Capitol. To keep the districts in line, a boy and a girl are chosen by lottery from each district to fight to the death on live t.v. in the Hunger Games every year. This game takes place and a girl named Katniss Everdeen takes her sister's place. This novel is a good mix of action and romance. A positive aspect is that Katniss must weigh survival against humanity and life vs. love if she wants to be the winner. An awesome read!!
