I recommend this book because it teaches us about love and care for a dog. It's a heartwarming tale between Travis, a 14 year old, and a dog. They go together hunting but the dog gets bitten by a wolf while protecting Travis' family. Travis has no option but to shoot him in fear of rabies. Travis, in tears, kills the dog but realizes that he needs to move on and so he did while placing the dog in his heart. I recommend this book for 11-13 year old kids.
